Call Accepted:  Pastor Wayne Oblender of Aurora, Nebraska has accepted the call to serve as our pastor.  His installation service will be Sunday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m.    Light refreshments will be served after the service.
Pastor Oblender has served the dual parish of First Lutheran Church in Aurora and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sutton, Nebraska since 2005.  He is a 1994 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.  He served the first eleven years of his ministry in our mission in the Novisibirsk Oblast in Russia before accepting the call to First and St. Mark’s.  He and his wife, Beth, have been blessed with seven children.
We pray God’s blessings on our work together with Pastor Oblender, on our efforts to provide for him and his family during their move, and for the congregations he is leaving.

Our 140th Anniversary Service will be held Sunday, September 13 at 9:00 a.m.  Pastor Doug Westenberg will serve as guest preacher for the occasion.  Light refreshments will be served after the service.

Sunday School will resume September 20.

Catechism Class will resume after Pastor Oblender’s installation.  The schedule will be determined in consultation with the families involved.

Tuesday Evening Bible Class will resume after Pastor Oblender’s installation so that we can pick a new topic together with him.

St. Peter’s Facebook Page will be offline a few days for updating sometime after Pastor Oblender’s installation.  Currently it is administered from Emmanuel’s page, which also needs updating.
